About Gerry Melendez

Gerry Melendez is a professional photographer and artist with 20 years experience based in Columbia, South Carolina. He has traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad, winning recognition for his work in state, regional and national contests. Melendez was recently named the 2005 and 2006 and 2009 South Carolina Photographer of the Year by the South Carolina News Photographers Association. He also received third place Photographer of the Year for all national small markets in the prestigious NPPA: Best of Photojournalism 2010 competition. He is available for any assignment.
